Ross Barkley kept Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season alive with a late equaliser against Manchester United but a brawl in the dying stages overshadowed the 2-2 draw.
United had looked to have earned their first win at Stamford Bridge since 2012 but Barkley scrambled home an equaliser in the 95th minute after David Luiz’s winner had rebounded off the post.
Anthony Martial struck twice in the second half to put United ahead after Antonio Rudiger’s opener but Barkley, a late substitute, continued his recent fine form by ensuring Chelsea left with a share of the spoils. The draw was not a tragedy for either side the brawl that broke out after Barkley’s equaliser will grab the headlines.
