Henry Pollock is expected to seek a significant pay rise to remain at Northampton Saints, with his agent Eddie Hearn claiming the rising England star is already worth a seven-figure annual salary.
Pollock, 21, is currently contracted to Northampton until the summer of 2027 after signing a deal in December 2024 reportedly worth around £150,000 per year. However, his rapid rise has dramatically increased his market value.
"He's certainly a seven-figure player," Hearn told the Daily Telegraph. "The way rugby is evolving and what Henry is achieving, his value over the next few years will only continue to rise."
Since signing his current contract, Pollock has made his England debut, toured with the British and Irish Lions, helped Northampton reach the Champions Cup final, and played a key role in the club's Premiership title triumph. His energetic playing style, fearless personality and eye-catching try celebrations have also made him one of rugby's fastest-rising stars.
Despite Pollock's growing profile, Northampton may struggle to meet his salary expectations because of the Premiership's £6.4 million salary cap and the number of elite players already on their books.
The Saints currently use their marquee player exemption—whose wages do not count towards the salary cap—for fly-half Fin Smith, while England internationals Tommy Freeman and Alex Mitchell are also expected to command lucrative contracts.
Last season, Northampton allowed club captain George Furbank to leave for Harlequins as they looked to create room within the salary cap to retain emerging talents such as Pollock.
Salary cap figures from the 2024-25 season also showed Pollock's current earnings are below average for an international back-row player, highlighting how quickly his value has risen. While few Premiership clubs can afford a £1 million-a-year salary, ambitious teams with greater financial flexibility could test Northampton's resolve if contract negotiations intensify.
