Nigeria National League side Sunshine Stars have declared midfielder David Igoche absent without official leave (AWOL) after he failed to report for pre-season training.
In a statement signed by the club's manager, Gabriel Aborowa, Sunshine Stars said Igoche has not returned to duty since the team resumed preparations for the 2026/27 season in June.
The club also warned football clubs, agents and other stakeholders against entering into transfer negotiations with the player without its written consent.
Sunshine Stars maintained that Igoche remains under contract and continues to receive his contractual entitlements despite his absence.
The Akure-based club are currently preparing for the 2026/27 Nigeria National League campaign.
