Tournament hosts Morocco were declared champions after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) overturned the result of January's final, which Senegal had won 1-0.
The controversy erupted when Senegal's players walked off the pitch after Morocco were awarded a stoppage-time penalty with the match still goalless.
Following a delay of around 17 minutes, the players returned to the field. Brahim Diaz's penalty was saved before Pape Gueye scored the decisive goal in extra time to hand Senegal victory.
Senegal lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport on 25 March, seeking to overturn CAF's ruling and be reinstated as AFCON champions.
CAF subsequently ruled that Senegal had forfeited the final and awarded Morocco a 3-0 victory.
Neither CAF nor the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) agreed to fast-track the appeal, meaning the case will now be heard on 8 October.
According to a CAS statement, the hearing date follows the standard procedural timeline.
At the request of both CAF and the FRMF, the hearing will be held behind closed doors at CAS headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
CAS has not indicated when a final verdict will be delivered, but confirmed that a decision will not be announced on the day of the hearing.
