Ben Duckett produced an unbeaten half-century as Trent Rockets cruised to a dominant nine-wicket victory over Welsh Fire in Cardiff, securing their second win in three matches in this season's The Hundred.
Chasing a modest target of 123 on a challenging two-paced surface at Sophia Gardens, Duckett anchored the innings superbly while Finn Allen provided early fireworks with a quickfire 33 from 19 balls in a 75-run opening stand.
Although Allen fell to Rachin Ravindra, Duckett remained composed, reaching his seventh career half-century in The Hundred from 43 balls. Tom Banton then finished the chase in style with an unbeaten 31 off just 15 deliveries as the Rockets reached the target with 28 balls remaining.
Welsh Fire's hopes were further dented by poor discipline, with their bowlers conceding seven free hits.
Earlier, Fire struggled to 122-7 after losing Phil Salt and Joe Root cheaply to Matt Henry. Matt Short top-scored with 36, while Jordan Cox added late momentum with a blistering 33 from 16 balls, including three consecutive sixes off Mitchell Santner.
However, Santner dismissed Cox with the very next ball to finish with impressive figures of 3-35, ensuring Fire's total was never enough as Trent Rockets completed a comfortable victory.
