Finn Allen's unbeaten 72 guided Trent Rockets to a six-wicket victory over Manchester Super Giants, sending them to the top of The Hundred standings.
Chasing a target of 138 at Old Trafford, the New Zealand opener smashed 11 fours and two sixes in a commanding 35-ball innings as the Rockets reached 140-4 with 13 balls to spare.
Although the chase began steadily, Allen shifted through the gears after the 75-ball mark, striking Josh Tongue for a six and a four in successive deliveries to put the visitors firmly in control.
The Rockets suffered an early setback when Ben Duckett was bowled by Gus Atkinson with just the third ball of the innings after attempting an audacious ramp shot. Tom Banton (10) and Tim David (4) also departed cheaply.
Captain Sam Billings contributed 26, while Mitchell Santner finished unbeaten on 24, sealing victory with the winning boundary.
Earlier, Jos Buttler top-scored for Manchester Super Giants with an unbeaten 55 from 37 balls, moving to within 24 runs of the all-time T20 run-scoring record.
Buttler and Leus du Plooy, who finished unbeaten on 40 from 28 deliveries, shared an unbroken 81-run partnership from 57 balls to lift the hosts to 137-3 after a slow start.
However, their total proved insufficient as Allen's superb knock powered Trent Rockets to a comfortable win.
The result reshapes the congested race at the top of the table. The day began with five teams level on eight points, separated only by net run rate. Rockets now move four points clear at the summit, while Manchester Super Giants slip to second place.
