Former England goalkeeper Mary Earps has joined London City Lionesses on a two-year contract following her departure from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 33-year-old leaves France after two seasons with PSG, where she made 22 league appearances during the 2025-26 campaign and recorded 12 clean sheets as the club finished third in the Première Ligue, 13 points behind champions Lyon.
Earps said the club's vision and ambition played a key role in her decision to return to England.
"I feel the club aligns with what I stand for. I can't wait to get started and get down to business," she said.
"The club's values represent what I want to represent, and they are passionate about what I want to achieve. Every conversation I had with the club was really positive, and each time I spoke with them, I wanted to hear more.
"The vision and ambition, including the new training facility, is incredible. It shows what our owner Michele Kang and everyone at the club want to achieve. It's about putting a marker down and showing we want to be competitive in a short space of time."
Earps returns to the Women's Super League as one of the most decorated goalkeepers in the women's game. A two-time FIFA Best Women's Goalkeeper winner, she played a pivotal role in England's historic Euro 2022 triumph and their run to the 2023 Women's World Cup final.
Before moving to PSG, Earps spent five successful years at Manchester United, making more than 100 appearances and helping the club secure its first major trophy with victory in the 2024 Women's FA Cup.
She retired from international football in 2025 after earning widespread acclaim for her performances with the Lionesses, becoming one of England's most influential and recognisable players.
Despite controversy surrounding the release of her autobiography last year, Earps continues to enjoy strong support from fans. During a return to Old Trafford with PSG in the Women's Champions League earlier this season, she received a warm reception from the home crowd, while a mural celebrating her achievements remains on display outside the stadium.
London City Lionesses are signalling their intent ahead of the new campaign as they look to establish themselves among the Women's Super League elite. The club is also expected to complete the signing of Spain defender Mapi León and remains in talks with two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas following her departure from Barcelona.
Backed by owner Michele Kang, London City Lionesses finished sixth in their debut WSL season in 2025-26 and are aiming to build on that foundation.
"I still feel I have so much left to give to the game, and that's exactly why I chose London City," Earps added.
"It won't be easy because the WSL is incredibly competitive. The team had a fantastic first season, and now the goal is to keep progressing, climb the table and challenge as high up as possible."
