Mason Greenwood has emerged as the top transfer target for both candidates in Fenerbahce’s presidential race ahead of the club’s upcoming election.
Former president Aziz Yildirim and challenger Hakan Safi are reportedly keen on bringing the Marseille forward to Turkey, with the election outcome expected to be announced on Sunday.
Greenwood’s future at Marseille has come under scrutiny in recent months, with sporting director Gregory Lorenzi confirming the French club would consider offers for the 24-year-old despite him having three years remaining on his contract.
The former Manchester United striker has impressed in France, scoring 48 goals in 81 appearances and finishing joint second in the Ligue 1 scoring charts last season with 16 goals.
Fenerbahce, who finished runners-up in the Turkish Super Lig for a fifth consecutive season, are looking to strengthen ahead of their Champions League qualifying campaign.
Greenwood has also been linked with a move to Serie A side Roma as speculation over his future continues.
