Club Revokes Mickelson's Membership Amid Allegations of Inappropriate Conduct

Six-time major champion Phil Mickelson has had his membership revoked by an exclusive California golf club amid allegations of inappropriate contact with a female employee.

The alleged incident took place earlier this spring at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, near San Diego. According to reports, the employee filed a complaint, after which Mickelson was asked to leave the course while playing a round.

In a statement provided to BBC Sport, the club said it takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for staff and members.

"Following a staff member's report of member misconduct, the Club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member, conducted a thorough independent investigation of the incident, and took decisive action," the statement said.

The club confirmed that the individual concerned is no longer a member but declined to comment further, citing privacy and safety considerations.

"The Farms conducts thorough reviews of all reported matters in accordance with California law and takes appropriate action when warranted, consistent with our commitment to integrity, excellence and accountability," the statement added.

Mickelson's representatives have been contacted for comment on the allegations, which were first reported by Golf Digest.
