Vaughan Slams England Selector Delay

0

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has criticised the delay in appointing England’s new national selector, calling it “ridiculous.” He said the replacement for former selector Luke Wright should have been in place by 1 April so they could already be watching County Championship matches and gathering information ahead of the summer Test season.

The England and Wales Cricket Board began the hiring process after Wright stepped down in January following the Ashes defeat in Australia. Final interviews reportedly took place this week, with former England bowler Steven Finn among the names linked to the role.

Vaughan argued that waiting four months to appoint a selector is too long, especially with England due to announce their squad for the first Test against New Zealand national cricket team soon. ([bbc.co.uk][1])
