Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has urged the club to prioritise a move for Victor Osimhen, even as the Red Devils edge closer to a £38 million deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
Ederson is expected to become Manchester United’s first signing under new manager Michael Carrick, but Evra believes the squad still lacks a proven striker capable of making a decisive impact.
Speaking to GOAL, Evra praised Osimhen’s qualities and insisted the Nigerian forward would be a game-changer at Old Trafford.
“Victor Osimhen. I have all due respect for Galatasaray, the love he gets there and what the player is like,” Evra said.
“Manchester United need a proper striker, and I have so much respect for the strikers at Man United.
“But back in the day, we had four amazing strikers, and if you want to compete in every competition, you need depth up front.
“Osimhen because I know this guy can make a difference,” he added.
Osimhen scored 22 goals for Galatasaray last season, helping the Turkish side win the Süper Lig title.
