Formula 1 legend Alain Prost reportedly suffered a head injury after masked robbers raided his home in Switzerland, according to local media reports.
The incident allegedly occurred at Prost’s residence in Nyon, near Geneva, where a group of masked individuals forced their way into the property on Tuesday morning. Swiss authorities confirmed that a family was targeted during the robbery, although they did not officially identify the victims.
In a statement, the Vaud cantonal police said the intruders threatened the occupants and slightly injured one family member in the head during the incident. The attackers also reportedly forced another member of the household to open a safe before fleeing the scene.
Police added that the value of the stolen items is still being determined, while a large-scale search operation involving Swiss and French law enforcement agencies has been launched to track down the suspects. Authorities also confirmed that psychological support has been offered to the affected family.
Prost, widely regarded as one of Formula 1’s greatest drivers, enjoyed a remarkable career spanning 13 seasons with teams including McLaren, Renault, Ferrari, and Williams. The Frenchman won four world championships in 1985, 1986, 1989, and 1993.
Only Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, and Juan Manuel Fangio have won more Formula 1 world titles than Prost.
