Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has praised Arsenal’s performance in the UEFA Champions League final despite his side’s victory on penalties.
The Ligue 1 champions were pushed all the way by the Gunners in a tense final that ended 1-1 after extra time before PSG prevailed in a dramatic shootout.
Ousmane Dembélé’s penalty cancelled out Kai Havertz’s early opener, sending the match beyond 120 minutes.
In the shootout, Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhães missed for Arsenal, allowing PSG to retain their European crown.
Speaking after the match, Enrique said: “This is the best moment of the season. We are still champions, two in a row, it’s amazing.
“We deserved that. Our supporters, during the whole season, we deserve to be in the final.
“It was very tough and difficult. Congratulations to Arsenal, it was very tough. They played great.”
