Edem (basketball administrator) has officially launched a West Africa basketball tournament in Lagos, aiming to boost the growth and visibility of the sport across the region.
The new competition, unveiled in Nigeria’s commercial capital, is designed to bring together top clubs and emerging talents from across West African countries, providing a stronger platform for player development and regional rivalry.
Organisers say the tournament will help improve exposure for young athletes while strengthening basketball infrastructure and collaboration between federations in the sub-region.
Edem described the initiative as a long-term project to elevate West African basketball standards and create more opportunities for players to compete at a higher level internationally.
