Michael Kayode has reportedly chosen Italy over Nigeria for his international future.
The Brentford defender, who is eligible to represent both countries through his Nigerian parents and Italian birth, said he will “always give priority to Italy” despite interest from the Super Eagles.
Kayode has already featured for Italy at youth level and is hoping to earn a senior call-up soon.
“I grew up wearing the Azzurri shirt,” the 21-year-old said while reaffirming his commitment to Italy.
Nigeria had been monitoring the highly rated right-back, with reports claiming the NFF and Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle were keen to convince him to switch allegiance.
