Silva’s appeal against ban and fine partially upheld

Fulham boss Marco Silva has had his appeal against a one-match touchline ban and £90,000 fine partially upheld.

The independent appeal board ruled that the touchline ban will be suspended until the end of the 2026-27 season, but the fine remains in place.

Silva was punished by the FA after criticising referee John Brooks following Fulham’s defeat to West Ham, where he questioned the standard of officiating and suggested repeated poor decisions affected his team’s season.

The FA had charged him with improper conduct, but the appeal outcome means he will avoid serving the ban immediately while still paying the financial penalty.
