John Stones says he has “lived all my dreams” as he prepares to leave Manchester City after a hugely successful decade at the club.
The defender made 293 appearances since joining from Everton in 2016, winning six Premier League titles, the Champions League and multiple domestic and international trophies under Pep Guardiola.
Stones described City as his “home” and reflected on his journey from a young player to a key figure in one of the club’s most dominant eras, both on and off the pitch.
Despite injury setbacks over the years, he remained a fan favourite, producing memorable moments including a vital goal against Arsenal and a crucial goal-line clearance against Liverpool during a title-winning campaign.
His versatility was also key, notably stepping into midfield during City’s 2023 Champions League final win over Inter Milan to help secure a historic Treble.
Stones now joins a growing list of senior departures, marking the end of an era at the Etihad Stadium.
