Ellie Kildunne has admitted she felt “really alone” after England’s Rugby World Cup win, despite her standout performances.
The England full-back scored a brilliant try in the final as the Red Roses beat Canada in front of a huge crowd, but said the emotional high quickly dropped after returning to normal club rugby with Harlequins Women.
Kildunne said going from a packed stadium to a much smaller crowd, and from being with teammates to living alone, made her feel isolated and question her motivation. However, she has since regained her focus and remains determined to keep improving, win more trophies, and aim for another World Cup.
