Chris Wood must manage a knee issue for the rest of his life

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood says he will have to manage his knee injury for the rest of his career and life after football.

The 34-year-old returned from six months out following knee surgery and is now back in contention for Forest’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Porto.

Wood said the injury will always need careful management in both his playing career and daily life, admitting it is something he will “always have in the back of his mind.”

Despite the setback, he is focused on helping Forest progress in Europe and also hopes to stay fit enough for a potential World Cup place with New Zealand.
