Callum Hudson-Odoi to miss Nottingham Forest run-in after surgery

0

Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a leg injury, in a significant setback for Nottingham Forest.

The 25-year-old winger picked up the injury during Forest’s Europa League quarter-final win over FC Porto and was forced off the pitch. He also missed their recent Premier League victory against Burnley.

The club confirmed the surgery was successful, but Hudson-Odoi will not be fit again until pre-season. In a message to fans, he expressed disappointment at how his campaign ended but said he is determined to return stronger.

Forest, managed by Vitor Pereira, are currently five points clear of the relegation zone and still have important games left, including fixtures against Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

They also face a major European challenge with a Europa League semi-final against Aston Villa, but will now have to manage without Hudson-Odoi for the rest of the campaign.
