Ashley Young has announced he will retire from football at the age of 40, bringing an end to a long and successful career.
The former England international began his journey at Watford before playing for top clubs like Aston Villa, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Everton. He finished his playing days at Ipswich Town.
Young earned 39 caps for England national football team and won major trophies during his career, including the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League and a Serie A title.
He said it has been a dream career but feels the time is right to stop, with his body no longer able to keep up. His focus now is to help Ipswich secure promotion before officially calling time on his career.
