
Wolfsburg took a 1-0 lead over eight-time European champions Lyon in the first leg of their Women’s Champions League quarter-final. Lineth Beerensteyn scored the decisive goal in the 14th minute, aided by a deflection.
Lyon had several chances to equalize, including efforts from Kadidiatou Diani and Melchie Dumornay, but Wolfsburg held on for the win. The second leg will be played in France on 2 April, with the winner set to face either Arsenal or Chelsea in the semi-final.
