Tottenham Hotspur bosses have finally fixed their Igor Tudor mistake, but they can’t afford to get the next decision wrong.
Igor Tudor lasted just 44 days as interim coach, in what turned out to be a strange and costly decision by chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange. Now, with Spurs sitting just above the relegation zone, another bad choice could even send them down to the Championship.
Tudor struggled badly, losing most of his games and failing to improve the team. His tactics didn’t suit the squad, and confidence dropped even further. While some feel sorry for him, most of the blame is on the club’s leadership for hiring him in the first place.
Spurs are now looking for yet another manager this season, with names like Roberto de Zerbi, Sean Dyche, Ryan Mason, and Robbie Keane being mentioned. But whoever they choose next must get it right — because the club is in serious trouble.
