Two 16-year-olds, Max Dowman and Marli Salmon, made history as Arsenal FC beat Mansfield Town FC 2-1 in the FA Cup fifth round.
Dowman became Arsenal’s youngest FA Cup starter, while Salmon made his first start. It was also the first time a Premier League team started two 16-year-olds in the same match.
Noni Madueke opened the scoring before Eberechi Eze came off the bench to score the winner after Mansfield equalised.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised both teenagers, calling Dowman “exceptional”.
