Top scorer Haji Wright scored his sixth goal in five games as Coventry City FC beat Bristol City FC to extend their lead at the top of the league to eight points.
Tatsuhiro Sakamoto opened the scoring and set up Wright for the second in first-half injury time. Both teams had a player sent off—Coventry’s Joel Latibeaudiere and Bristol City’s Adam Randell—but Coventry held on to secure their fifth consecutive win.
Bristol City pressed after the break, with Scott Twine and Max Bird testing goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, but Coventry’s defence and finishing saw them safely through.
