Manchester Jewish leaders say Manchester City have been “let down” by Pep Guardiola for commenting on international conflicts instead of focusing on football.
The Jewish Representative Council of Greater Manchester criticised Guardiola after he spoke about the “hurt” he feels for victims in Palestine, Ukraine, Sudan, and recent ICE shootings in the US, and for supporting Palestinian children at a Barcelona charity event.
The group urged him to be more careful with his words, highlighting rising anti-Semitism and recent attacks on local Jewish communities.
Manchester City have declined to comment.
