Yuvraj Samra made history with a brilliant 110 for Canada, becoming the first player from an associate nation to score a T20 World Cup century.
At 19 years and 141 days, Samra also became the youngest-ever centurion in the tournament’s history. His 65-ball knock helped Canada post 173-4 in Chennai.
However, New Zealand chased down the target comfortably, winning by eight wickets thanks to an unbeaten 146-run partnership between Glenn Phillips (76*) and Rachin Ravindra (59*).
The result sends New Zealand into the Super 8s, while Canada are eliminated.
