Charlotte Bankes was left “lost” after exiting the snowboard cross quarter-finals at her fourth Olympics, ending her chance of an elusive medal for Team GB. Despite being a former world champion with 26 World Cup golds, Bankes could not overcome the Livigno Snow Park course, finishing last in her quarter-final.
Australia’s Josie Baff took gold, while Eva Adamczykova and Michela Moioli claimed silver and bronze. Bankes will return in 48 hours for the mixed team event with world champion team-mate Huw Nightingale.
Her Olympic hoodoo continues, as she chases the medal that has so far evaded her.
