Arsenal stormed past Wigan with four goals in the first 30 minutes, booking their place in the FA Cup fifth round for the first time in six years.
The Premier League leaders were in control from the start. Eberechi Eze set up Noni Madueke to open the scoring in the 11th minute, then assisted Gabriel Martinelli to make it 2-0 just seven minutes later. Arsenal made it 3-0 when Jack Hunt accidentally scored an own goal, and Gabriel Jesus chipped in a clever fourth after a pass from Christian Norgaard.
Bukayo Saka, who stepped in at the last minute, played a key role in the early goals from a central midfield position.
Wigan had a few chances to respond, but Kepa Arrizabalaga made a fine save, and Viktor Gyokeres hit the post in the second half.
This fast start made Arsenal the first Premier League team to score four goals in the first half-hour of an FA Cup match. The win also marks their first trip to the fifth round since they lifted the trophy in 2020 under Mikel Arteta.
