Van Dijk admitted frustration with the team’s performance, especially their sloppy play after 60 minutes, and said the squad and staff need to assess and fix the issues.
For the first time since 1980-81, Liverpool have failed to beat any promoted teams at Anfield this season, leaving them seven points behind third-placed Aston Villa. “We need support,” Van Dijk added, “I don’t like boos from our own fans.”
Looking ahead, Liverpool face a tough Champions League trip to Marseille on Wednesday, where Van Dijk expects a “hostile atmosphere” against Roberto de Zerbi’s side. He welcomed the return of Mohamed Salah from the Africa Cup of Nations, highlighting the forward’s importance in helping Liverpool get positive results.
