
Raheem Sterling has left Chelsea by mutual consent after agreeing to end his contract early. The 31-year-old had 18 months remaining on his £325,000-a-week deal. Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022 for £47.5m and made 81 appearances during three-and-a-half seasons, but had not played competitively since May 2024, training separately at the club’s Cobham base.
Chelsea confirmed Sterling will receive a payout, though it is less than the £20m he would have earned if he had stayed. The club thanked him for his contributions and wished him well for the next stage of his career.
