Scott Robertson has been sacked as New Zealand’s head coach after two years in charge. The 51-year-old led the All Blacks to 10 wins in 13 Tests during the 2025 season but came under pressure after losses to Argentina, South Africa, and England, as well as reported tensions with senior players.
“I’m gutted, but it’s in the team’s best interest for me to step aside,” Robertson said, praising the progress of the squad and the young talent coming through.
New Zealand Rugby said they will immediately begin looking for his replacement. Chair David Kirk thanked Robertson for his commitment and said the mid-point of the Rugby World Cup cycle is the right time to review the team ahead of a busy 2026 schedule, which includes the Nations Championship and Bledisloe Cup fixtures.
