Manchester City are showing increased interest in signing Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi this month. The Premier League champions are looking at the England defender after injuries to key centre-backs Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and John Stones.
City are waiting to assess how serious the injuries are before deciding whether to make a move in the January transfer window, but their interest in Guehi has grown and a deal this month is now possible.
Guehi, 25, is out of contract at the end of the season and has been expected to leave Palace on a free transfer in the summer. Several top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, are also interested.
Liverpool remain keen after failing to sign Guehi for £35m last summer, and both City and Liverpool could try to sign him for free at the end of the season. Palace may now consider selling their captain in January to avoid losing him for nothing.
