France forward Delphine Cascarino has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with London City Lionesses after leaving San Diego Wave. She ended her contract with the NWSL club on Sunday to be closer to home.

The 28-year-old had spent her entire senior career at Lyon before moving to the Wave in 2024, winning six Women’s Champions League titles and nine French league titles with Lyon.

Cascarino has played 86 times for France, helping the team reach the quarter-finals at Paris 2024 Olympics and Euro 2025, providing assists in group stage wins against England and the Netherlands.

She said: “England is the country of football. I’ve always wanted to play in this league. I want to compete in the Champions League with London City and win many trophies.”

London City Lionesses, playing in the Women’s Super League for the first time this season, are currently seventh.

Head coach Eder Maestre said: “I’m thrilled about this signing. Cascarino is an exciting forward who can take on players one-on-one and will be strong on the wing. She has a winning mentality and the experience from six Champions League wins to help us reach our goals.”
