Plenty of goals lit up the Women’s FA Cup as Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United all advanced to the fifth round. A total of 55 goals were scored across 12 matches on Sunday.
Liverpool overcame fourth-tier London Bees 6-0, with five different scorers, including debutants Denise O’Sullivan and Martha Thomas. Manchester City cruised to a 6-0 win at Bournemouth, with Khadija Shaw, Lauren Hemp, Laura Coombs, and Vivianne Miedema all on the scoresheet, extending their unbeaten run to 16 games. Manchester United also eased past Burnley 5-0, with goals from captain Maya Le Tissier, new signing Lea Schuller, and 16-year-old Layla Drury.
In WSL-only action, Arsenal beat Aston Villa 2-0, with Kim Little scoring and assisting. Lower-league sides also impressed: Charlton Athletic scored 10 against Swindon Town, Bristol City won in extra time over Southampton, and Oxford United, Birmingham City, and Sheffield United all progressed. National League side York City’s run ended with a 3-0 loss at Chatham Town.
