Novak Djokovic has pulled out of the Adelaide International, citing that he is “not quite physically ready to compete.” The 38-year-old Serb was set to play the tournament as a warm-up for his bid to win a record 25th Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open.
Djokovic has a strong history in Melbourne, having won 10 Australian Open titles, though he lost in the semi-finals in both of his last two appearances. Over recent years, he has reduced his playing schedule to stay fresh for the Grand Slams.
