Brennan Johnson is expected to be named in Crystal Palace’s squad to face Newcastle on Sunday after completing a club-record £35m move from Tottenham.
Palace are set to officially confirm the signing within 24 hours after the 24-year-old Wales forward completed the final steps of the transfer on Friday.
Johnson had attracted interest from Bournemouth, but after talks with Palace manager Oliver Glasner, he chose a move to Selhurst Park.
The deal breaks Palace’s transfer record, beating the £27m paid for Christian Benteke in 2016. Johnson joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in 2023 for £47.5m and scored the winning goal in Spurs’ Europa League triumph last season.
However, under manager Thomas Frank, his playing time has been limited this season, with four goals in 22 appearances, prompting the move to Palace.
