West Ham Name Guarino as New Manager

West Ham Women have appointed Rita Guarino as their new manager following the sacking of Rehanne Skinner.

Guarino, taking her first managerial job outside Italy, has signed an 18-month contract.

The 54-year-old previously managed Inter Milan from 2021 to 2024 and led Juventus to four consecutive Serie A titles. She has also coached Italy’s Under-17s team. Skinner was dismissed after winning just one of 11 WSL games this season.

Guarino said she is excited to join West Ham, praising the club’s history and values. She wants to help players develop individually and as a team. One of her first tasks will be navigating the January transfer window as West Ham look to climb from second-bottom in the WSL, just two points above Liverpool.

She added she aims to build a team that is organised, aggressive on the ball, and works hard together, and she is eager to begin her new chapter in one of the world’s best leagues.
