Teenager Lennart Karl scored for the third Champions League game in a row as Bayern Munich came from behind to beat Sporting. The 17-year-old became the youngest player ever to score in three straight Champions League matches, putting Bayern ahead in the second half with a powerful finish.
Sporting had taken the lead early in the second half after a Joshua Kimmich own goal, but Bayern hit back 10 minutes later when Serge Gnabry was left unmarked to volley in.
Karl then made it 2-1 by controlling Konrad Laimer’s lofted pass and finishing confidently, though goalkeeper Rui Silva might have saved it. Jonathan Tah added a third goal after Gnabry headed the ball into his path from a free-kick.
Bayern, now level on points with Arsenal at the top of the group (but with a game more played), dominated much of the match. Karl had an early goal ruled offside and Harry Kane hit the post, while Sporting posed danger on the counter but couldn’t match Bayern’s strength as they moved closer to the knockout stages.
