Swansea City snatched a dramatic Championship win over Wrexham thanks to a last-minute blunder by Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo. The mistake allowed Adam Idah to tap in a stoppage-time winner in the first league meeting between the two Welsh sides in 22 years.
Wrexham had surprisingly led at halftime despite not taking a shot in the first half, when Swansea defender Cameron Burgess scored his third own goal of the season from Ryan Longman’s cross. Swansea dominated possession but struggled to create clear chances until Zan Vipotnik’s low, deflected shot leveled the game in the second half.
Substitute Liam Cullen came close to winning it for Swansea, but it was Okonkwo’s error that ultimately handed Idah an easy finish, sparking celebrations at a sold-out Swansea.com Stadium. The victory is Swansea’s third in six games under new head coach Vitor Matos, moving them to 17th in the Championship, just two points and places behind Wrexham.
