
Marcus Rashford scored as Barcelona started their Copa del Rey title defence with a tough win over third-tier side Guadalajara.
Barcelona, who won the competition last season, made several changes and found it hard to break their opponents down. The first half ended without a goal despite Barcelona having most of the ball.
Defender Andreas Christensen finally put Barcelona ahead late on, heading in a cross with 14 minutes to go. Rashford then wrapped up the win in the final minute, scoring calmly after being played through by Lamine Yamal.
Manager Hansi Flick made eight changes from the team that beat Osasuna at the weekend, with Barcelona still four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.
Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United and hoping to make the move permanent, struggled early on but made the difference late in the game.
Barcelona join Deportivo La Coruna, Elche, Real Sociedad and Valencia in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey. They next face Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday.
