Mbappe included in Squad to Play Man City despite Injury Worries

Real Madrid have confirmed that Kylian Mbappé has been named in the squad to face Manchester City in Wednesday’s Champions League match, despite ongoing injury concerns.

The 26-year-old missed an open training session on Tuesday, with reports in Spain claiming he may have a fractured finger and is also dealing with a knee problem. Even so, his inclusion is seen as a big boost for head coach Xabi Alonso.

The match comes at a difficult time for Alonso, whose future at Real Madrid is under pressure after the team won just one of their last five La Liga games, including a 2–0 home defeat to Celta Vigo.

Reports suggest Alonso’s job could be at risk if Real Madrid lose to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Bernabéu.

Mbappé has scored 25 goals in La Liga and the Champions League this season, although he failed to score in Real Madrid’s defeat last weekend.

If Mbappé does not start or is not at his best, Alonso will be relying heavily on Vinícius Júnior, Arda Güler, and Jude Bellingham.
