Manchester United manager Marc Skinner says the club will look to bring in midfield cover in January after Celin Bizet announced she is pregnant.
The Norway international revealed on Thursday that she is expecting a baby in 2026 with her husband, Aron. With Bizet set to go on maternity leave, Skinner admitted United will need reinforcements during the winter transfer window.
“Congratulations to Aron and Celin, but from our perspective we will miss her,” Skinner said on Friday. “Hopefully we will do some work in the transfer window to replace her.”
United have also received a boost ahead of Sunday’s Women’s Super League match against West Ham, with first-choice goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce returning to fitness. She had been sidelined after fracturing her eye socket in the defeat to Aston Villa and missed the losses to Manchester City and Wolfsburg before the international break.
“Phallon is ready,” Skinner confirmed. “She has been training for the last few days and is ready for selection.”
