Manchester United have signed Germany international Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old forward, contracted until June 2029, is United’s second January signing after full-back Hanna Lundkvist.
Schüller spent five years at Bayern, making over 100 appearances and winning four league titles. She has scored 54 goals in 82 games for Germany, helped the team finish runners-up at Euro 2022, and won bronze at the 2024 Olympics.
Speaking after joining, Schüller said she believes Manchester United is the perfect club to continue achieving in her career and that the team’s style suits her game.
Manchester United’s director of women’s football, Matt Johnson, praised her goal-scoring record and experience, saying she will add a new dimension to their attack and help guide the young squad in domestic and European competitions.
United are also active in the transfer window, having extended key midfielder Hinata Miyazawa’s contract until 2029 as manager Marc Skinner looks to strengthen the squad for the Women’s Champions League knockout stages.
