Manchester United and Bournemouth played out a dramatic 4-4 draw at Old Trafford in one of the most exciting Premier League matches of the season, with both teams taking the lead and fighting back more than once.
United went into half-time 2-1 ahead, but that lead disappeared quickly after the break as Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier scored within seven minutes to put Bournemouth in front. The momentum swung again when Bruno Fernandes scored a free-kick and Matheus Cunha followed up just two minutes later to restore United’s lead.
However, 19-year-old Eli Junior Kroupi struck late on to make it 4-4, earning Bournemouth a well-deserved point from a fast-paced and open game.
Earlier, Ruben Amorim was rewarded for adjusting his usual five-man defence and pushing Amad Diallo further forward, with the winger heading in after 13 minutes. United started strongly, firing six shots in the first 10 minutes, their quickest start in a league game since October 2022.
Both sides were relentless, combining for 38 shots in total. Casemiro was booked and will miss the trip to Aston Villa, while Bournemouth nearly grabbed a late winner, only for Senne Lammens to make two crucial stoppage-time saves from David Brooks.
The result drops Manchester United out of the top five, while Bournemouth, now 13th, have stretched their winless run to seven games.
