Amorim Laments Manchester United’s Missed Chances

0

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim wasn’t happy after his team threw away another lead, this time in a 1-1 draw with struggling West Ham on Thursday.

United are eighth in the Premier League and only two points off the top four, but Amorim says they should be in a much better position. They recently let leads slip against Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, and even lost 1-0 to 10-man Everton at Old Trafford.

Amorim said his team should have easily finished the game off.

“We should have kept the ball and killed the game. It was there for us to win,” he said.
“We didn’t keep control, we couldn’t keep possession, and once again we dropped two points.”

Diogo Dalot scored for United just before the hour mark, but West Ham equalised late on when Soungoutou Magassascored from a corner. Amorim looked frustrated throughout.

He added:

“Our performance wasn’t perfect. We had good moments, but we lost control at times, especially after our goal.
It’s really frustrating because we had the match under control — and still didn’t win.”
