Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, says he expects a tough battle against Warri Wolves in their matchday 13 encounter.
The Pride of Rivers will trade tackles with neighbours Warri Wolves at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday (today).
Finidi believes that a positive result in the clash will help them close the gap on league leaders, Nasarawa United.
“We expect Warri Wolves to come fighting after their loss at home,” Finidi told Rivers United media.
“We know it’s important to get the needed result so we can close the gap.”
It would be recalled that Rivers United defeated Warri Wolves 2-1 in the same fixture in 2021.
Godwin Aguda netted a brace for Rivers United in that game, while Emmanuel Ihezuo scored for Warri Wolves.
