Scotland's Cooper Exits CSKA 'by Mutual Agreement'

0

Scotland centre-half Liam Cooper has left CSKA Sofia less than a year into his contract with the Bulgarian club.

CSKA say the 33-year-old's deal was terminated "by mutual agreement".

Cooper, who has 19 Scotland caps, had arrived as a free agent in September after ending a 10-year spell with Leeds United.

The former Leeds captain played 25 times for CSKA last season, 21 of them starts, as they finished fifth in the Bulgarian First League.

Cooper also started both their opening league games this season - 1-1 draws with Botev Plovdiv and Spartak Varna.

The news of Cooper's exit comes as fellow Scotland centre-half Ryan Porteous is being linked, with a transfer from Watford to Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles.
