Roy Keane Slams ‘foolish’ Man United star

Former Manchester United player Roy Keane has slammed the club’s midfielder Christian Eriksen for the player’s comments after a Europa League match last month.

Erik ten Hag’s side has had a poor start to the season and were held to a 1-1 draw in their first match in Europe this campaign against Holland top top-division side, Twente.

Eriksen was named in Erik ten Hag’s XI for the game and managed to score Manchester United’s only goal of the evening.

Speaking after the game, Eriksen had expressed disappointment, saying that the Red Devils did not do enough to win the game and insisted that the Netherlands side looked like they wanted it more than United, which, according to him, was not right.

Keane told The Overlap: “I even go back to the FC Twente game and when the players came out after the match, it was Eriksen, again a really poor game, oh my goodness, and when players come out (and say), ‘I think they might have wanted it more than us’, I kind of gave up at that stage.

“So he’s coming out after the game, I’m looking at him, even if you feel that, and that has happened where you thought they wanted it more than you, you don’t say it, you fool, do you?”
