Ballon d’Or: Guardiola reacts as Real Madrid snubs ceremony over Rodri’s win

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has insisted he has no problem with Real Madrid’s decision to snub Monday night’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

City’s midfielder Rodri won the prize ahead of the Real Madrid trio of Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal.

Rodri was voted winner by a 100-strong panel of voters, which consists of journalists and coaches.

With Madrid aware of this before the event, they cancelled their trip to Paris.

This meant no one from the LaLiga club was present to collect the men’s club of the year award for Carlo Ancelotti and the Gerd Muller trophy for Kylian Mbappe.

Guardiola told reporters on Tuesday: “It’s up to them. If they want to congratulate, that’s fine. If not, that’s fine as well

At Manchester City, we are not here to judge other clubs on what they decide they have to do.”
